People

Brenda joined the firm in 2023 as an intern and has progressed to her current role as an Associate Trainee. She is a practicing advocate of the High Court and subordinate courts, except for the Primary Court. Her areas of practice include corporate and commercial matters, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and financial services.

Brenda works closely with partners and assists in advising on a range of corporate legal issues in Tanzania, including business formation, registration, and post-incorporation services across various sectors.

She has also assisted in advising local and international clients on compliance matters related to corporate governance and the review of commercial and joint venture agreements. Additionally, Brenda supports partners in preparing due diligence reports, providing company secretarial services, and reviewing contracts.

  1. As a team member, assisted in advising POSCO International Corporation on its additional USD 40 million investment in Black Rock Mining Limited.
  2. As a team member, currently advising a foreign lender on a EUR 71 million term loan facility to a local bank for onward lending to the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar to finance a turnkey project in Unguja and Pemba Islands, on a partly secured basis.
  3. As a team member, currently advising the African Development Bank (AfDB) on a proposed trade finance guarantee transaction involving a local bank.
  4. As a team member, advised the Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB) on a USD 110 million trade finance facility for Alliance One Tobacco Tanzania.
  5. As a team member, currently advising the Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB) on a USD 75 million secured structured trade finance facility to a tobacco trading company in Mauritius, for onward lending to its Tanzanian subsidiary, with the facility guaranteed by the Tanzanian subsidiary.
